Joining civil service @22w pregnant, who to inform and when?

Can any current CS folk advise? It’s been a looong recruitment process (applied before becoming pg), and very different from my previous experiences...rather anonymous with automated no-reply emails/online communication only.
My background checks should now be done, so I’m expecting a formal offer imminently. I’ll be at least 22 weeks pregnant by the time I take up the role.

Is it best to inform HR or my new manager first? And should I do this in writing, or on the phone or in person?

Are you an external candidate (ie new to CS) or an internal move? It can seem impersonal because it has all become very "eGovernment" nowadays with many of their recruitment processes going online, whihpch means it feels like you don't actually get to talk to a human being for a long time into the process.

If you're external, you should have an HR contact name, either through the advert, or someone should have reached out to you to let you know your security vetting has been completed.

Re: who to tell about being pg, it's a bit difficult to advise you without knowing if you are an external or internal candidate. I'm guessing you are external, and therefore new to the CS. If so, check back to the online advert via your CS.Jobs profile as they always include an HR person's name as part of the recruitment blurb, for where you can direct queries.

The person named may be the vacancy holder rather than HR, once you have your offer and a take up duty date inform this person or the person named in your appointment letter.
