What is the longest you have been unemployed?

The longest for me was about 14 months between 2013 to 2014

7 months, council cuts 6 years ago, they cut out whole service fuckers, once it's gone it can't return. tory council too with £££ in south east

yes i got another job but i miss my job as it was my calling and we had a good team. fuckers

All relative really.

Before dc, never. Aged 16-32.
After dc was a sahm for 3 years.
Then, last year intentionally unemployed for 5 months after quitting my job.
In these periods I have not once claimed unemployment benefit or any other benefits.
Never been made redundant.

I’m about to be unemployed for 2 days between jobs. I can’t think of a time I’ve been unemployed that’s longer than that.

Not sure what counts. I worked from 17 until 23 without a break as a 6th former and student. Then I did my PhD so that's a full time effort with paid teaching. Aside from studying, probably the month between quitting my job and starting teacher training. Also I did work for myself for a good few months before starting what I do now; I was earning decent money but I felt unemployed!
