Occupational Maternity Pay/Job security Issues

First time posting so apologies if I get something wrong!

I've been with the same company for just shy of 2 years and went on maternity leave in August 2017 and have taken 52 weeks.

In all honesty I don't understand the pay situation, is OMP a deduction? The reason I ask is that so far every payslips I have received there has been a deduction under the heading of OMP.

I'm only worried about this being wrong (which it might not be of course) as I recently found out that there was a pay rise given out (which I received a letter stating I should be entitled to) dating back to July but I have yet to receive/don't think I will receive until I go back which really doesn't seem fair to me.

Apologies for the rant!! Is anyone able to shed any light on that if you're able to make sense of it?

Whoops! Sorry, the job security issue is that I've also found out that my maternity cover has been taken on permanently which worries me in case I don't have a job to go back to.

Are you entitled to occupational maternity pay? If you are just receiving SMP then that is paid at a standard rate and, apart from the first 6 weeks, is not related to your salary as long as you are paid over £112/week. So you don't receive your new salary until you return to work.

You have protection to return to a role on no less favourable terms on your return from mat leave if you are taking more than 6 months.

According to my contract I am which is why I am confused about the deductions.

Oh thank you for the reassurance about my job, definitely one less thing to worry about.

Regarding the pay rise, they should have recalculated your SMP based on your new pay.

Are the deductions to reduce your pay from its normal level to the OMP level? For example, if you are usually paid, say, £1500 per month and OMP is £500 per month, are they showing £1500 pay with an OMP deduction of £1000? If so, that would be an odd way of doing it but you are being paid correctly. OMP is instead of your ordinary pay, not additional to it.

It doesn't look as though g
The new salary has been amended as the figure at the top right is the same as it's been previously.

It's showing SMP with an amount and the below it OMP with a small amount with the total on the bottom right minus the OMP amount.

Thank you for the info!!
