Need to find out if a certain company is still running its FSPS as DH has been offered a new job and it is something that we really have to take into account - he gets paid well where he is but not as well as he would like and not in line with his performance - they keep promising him it will change but it doesn't and for them to say it will change means they know he is not being paid what he should be.

The company that has been in touch with him pays infinately better and the bonuses are great but DH is having a terrible time trying to work out whether this will be a beter bet than stayig where he is and having his FSPS at the end of it all????

Look at their accounts in the accounting policies note on retirement benefits. If the scheme is closed to new entrants that must be disclosed. If it isn;t in the accounting policies note, you will find it in the notes to the accounts that deal with the retirement benefits provisions.

if he's been offered the new job then why doesn't he just ask about the pension? it's a normal question to ask when deciding to take up a job or not.

The accounts are most probably on the company's website - look in the investor relations section of the website. If not you'll have to pay to get them from companies house.

Ring them up? Straightforward question, can't see that it would be an issue.
