eBay or similar. If you have knowledge of anything, children's toys, books, clothing, antiques, vintage records... if you are an expert in anything, use that knowledge to buy and sell.

What skills do you have?

Gazelda · 16/01/2018 08:06

Do you want to work from home, or be a business owner? They're not necessarily the same thing.

CAAKE · 16/01/2018 08:19

It's not technically working in your home, but I know someone who is making a good living as an Air BnB "host" - property owners pay her to meet the guests at their property, look after any issues during their stay and do the cleaning at the end. It's flexible and she does it around her kids' school hours.

I'll echo "What skills do you have?"

and add: Why do you need to be able to do it from home?

Do you need flexible hours to work around naps because you have small children an no childcare?

Could you commit to regular hours if they were in the evening?

Trying to set up your own business is a good way to lose money, if you don't have a pretty good idea of why you are doing it.

Personal and professional coaching sounds ideal OP! You could do it from home over Skype😉

MyBrilliantDisguise · 17/01/2018 19:47

You're not allowed to advertise your business here.

You could have a look at people per hour website. I was self employed for a while and got most of my work from there - I did writing/proof reading but people want all sorts of skills. I did it part time but estimate I could have made 2000 a month if I did full time and accepted all the work I was offered.

Makeroomforthemushrooms · 17/01/2018 19:52

As previous posters have said, start with skills you already have and build on them.
