Body Shop at Home - Is it Worth it?

Hello :)

Has anyone done this before or does anyone have any feedback or advice or anything about this?

Am keen to do something on the side of my full time job for extra income but not sure how worth it this would be.

I also travel quite a lot for work so couldn't commit to doing the parties and would mainly have to sell online or to friends and family.

Thoughts?

THANK YOU :)

No. Scarred me for life... I think you have to be a certain type of person to make money at it, I didn't. I'm not a salesperson and I don't like home shopping parties myself, felt like relatives were just buying stuff to encourage me and it felt like ripping them off.

Super123 · 05/01/2018 00:36

I did it and it was awful.

The biggest problem is how cheaply it can be bought online anyway.

Theimpossiblegirl · 05/01/2018 00:39

It used to be a good earner a few years ago, but now there is always a discount code for online orders, so it is cheaper for people to buy directly from them.

I am a consultant and really enjoy it. A lot of it is done through Facebook and the likes so cuts out the need for parties and face to face selling if you don’t fancy it. I earn a bit of extra money each month and the free stuff is great. How much you earn depends how much you put into it.

SileneOliveira · 02/03/2019 12:09

Of course it's not worth it. It's a scamtastic MLM.

How much you earn depends how much you put into it.#

No, how much the people at the top of the pyramid structure earn depends on how much you put in.

Thomas1110 · 02/03/2019 12:43

That’s a bit rude. It isn’t a scam. How would you describe a pyramid? “One of those people at the top that make more money” What like Apple? Microsoft? Vodafone? ANY company! Grin

SileneOliveira · 02/03/2019 13:21

Oh here we go with the "every company is a pyramid" bollocks.

Fact is that over 99% of people signed up for these sort of "amazing opportunities" make no money, or lose money.

Why would anyone buy off a Body Shop seller when you can use one of the many codes to get 40% off, free delivery etc?

MissCharleyP · 23/04/2019 23:01

I wouldn’t have thought so. No experience but a friend from school does it alongside her FT job. I can’t see how you’d make enough money TBH; there’s a store in town (less than 2 miles away) so I’d just go in there (well, I would if they’d bring back Fuzzy Peach & Dewberry but that’s another story!) if I wanted something. And like pp have said there’s discounts online frequently as well.

Smiletry · 20/09/2022 23:12

You are the lucky/smart one

Eddieisadick · 20/09/2022 23:15

MLM bollocks
Body shop has had its day
you will make no money

womaninatightspot · 20/09/2022 23:19

No idea how anyone makes money from it. Why would you buy from someone on facebook when you can buy it online from bodyshop with a discount?

Isaidnoalready · 20/09/2022 23:26

Christmas is the only time you stand a chance to make money most consultants do raffles (illegal on Facebook but you can get around it) basically flogging products for far more than they are worth then there are the calendars absolute gold dust make up gift baskets gift mugs etc by January no-one will buy shit

I have a friend who does make money off mlm BUT she has about five and flexes with the season bodyshop Christmas juice plus January summer scents etc etc its hard work but has a disabled family member that she cares for and a full time worker husband it works for her

Banana2079 · 20/09/2022 23:28

I thought this type of thing was consigned to the past -it’s really quite old-fashioned , Think Avon in the 1990s, most people Would prefer just to look online and buy from there where they can get offers as well it’s always fun to have a party and for the girls to come round and have a laugh but I wouldn’t say it will be a regular income for you

Yep. Not every company is like that at all. Look at younique and how many of the sellers were left with hoardes of stuff that nobody would buy off them.
Those sales reps become really annoying. you can tell they're so desperate to offload their shitty productive.
