Constantly picking up the slack for colleagues

I work in a job where I am constantly expected to correct everyones mistakes at work or do twice as much work as anyone else in the department. My supervisor is constantly asking me to fix other peoples mistakes and when i ask him can he start training people so the mistakes are not made he just keeps telling me that they are not competent.
When it comes to doing jobs no one else finishes the complete list of jobs they have for that day they have someone helping them. I try and most times succeed in getting all the jobs done by myself and anything i don't finish i will make sure i finish the following day. I struggle to complete my jobs because I have to do the job of someone else for example answer the phone because everyone else ignore it.

Should I just suck it up and do my job or start looking for another job (which I don't want to do as I usually enjoy my job)

Isn't this a duplicate thread?

Do both. You have a manager problem and those are rarely possible to fix. There are other jobs you will love and you sound consciencious so someone else will snap you up.

Take care of yourself - if the management had a plan on how to fix this then that would be one thing but it seems their plan is to get you to fill all the gaps. If you left they would be forced to sort it out and they would.

I was in a similar position and I wish that I had stood my ground before it got unbearable. I am still feeling the long term damage to my health. In the end I sent an email and copied HR in detailing my ridiculous workload. Did it work - sort of however within weeks I noticed that the managers were careful to state in front of HR to me not to do over my hours, behind their backs they would dump extra work and responsibilities on me and threaten me that it must be done before I left. Happily plan B which was find another job came through.

My advice 1) Talk to manager (calmly) 2) If that fails put it in writing and copy in HR too. Finally do start looking for other jobs too just in case it all doesn't work. Good luck.
