Working from home - what kind of job can I do to enable this? Any advice appreciated.

Currently I work for the NHS.

I have mainly worked in an admin and clerical role, receptionist, ward clerk, front line, noisy jobs, always on the (bloody) phone, mithered by other colleagues as I am the only one doing my job on any given shift.

I want a change. I want to work from home, but I don’t know exactly what to do.

What type of jobs suit working from home?

Maybe I’m looking for something where I’m given a set amount of hours a day to get something done (as long as I don’t have to answer a bloody phone! Much), or get mithered.

Also, has anybody gone working from home after working in an office environment and preferred it?
Any help or advice.would be appreciated. Many thanks.

I'd consider looking for a compromise where you can have flexible working arrangements enabling you to do some hours/days from home and some from the office.

I'm sure it's everyone's dream to work from the comfort of their own home and still get paid - but the reality is, there is still a need for many types of paid employment of the admin variety, to have the person there present in the office, and without their physical presence the maxim "out of sight, out of mind" comes into play.

Just a thought...
