So, I've been doing a temporary job but want to make a good impression etc, etc.
I've really worked hard, got lots of results and received positive feedback both from top and upwards from staff. I've tried to listen to and respond to customer feedback, including driving the development of items that have been put off for years.

One of the other senior managers. I work with has not been very supportive from day 1. He has ignored my request for catch up meetings, even out them in diary to shut me up and then cancelled them. He won't discuss any collaborative work with me, will only email.

I asked him a while back if there was an issue and he said no. Hasn't helped the boss has now transferred some of his role to me as he feels I get better results.

The prat is now trying to take credit for my work. He's getting staff to blind copy him in any emails they send to me and he then raises things just before completion as his own work.

I'm getting quite annoyed and down about it. Any tips?

Put them in diary not out!

There'll always be one like this.

He has shown his colours. You need to limit your contact with him and keep things close to your chest. If you are asked to do collaborative work then ask for suggestions as to how to go about that as you find 'Fred' quite difficult to work with.

They probably realise this as you're getting his work!

Agree that you need to limit contact with him. I would also make sure your manager and anyone else relevant knows what your plans before you communicate them to other staff (or as soon after as possible) and is given regular updates on progress so that it will be obvious to everyone if he tries to take credit for things you have done.

Thank you. That is good advise, I also think he is a bit of a sexist pig. He only seems to openly thank and praise male staff.
