Value Based Interview NSPCC

So I've got myself an interview with the NSPCC (admin post) and they've said I've got a "Values Based Interview" which when I've read up on it sounds bloody scary. I'm absolutely shit at these type of interviews. Had a competency type interview the other week and even though I'd prepared like mad and thought I did okay I found it all very very stressful. Actually thinking of cancelling I'm that scared Confused.

Anybody had one or work's for the NSPCC and can give me any tips on what kind of questions I'm likely to be asked?

Just wrote a long reply and it didn't post.

It's standard interview stuff.
When did you manage conflict
How have you supported a colleague
Tell us about a time when you had to manage your time

I'm a Value Based Interviewer.

The key really is to relax. Also, you need to admit you've made mistakes and have improved on them.

A typical question could be "tell us about a time you have changed your behaviour based on feedback you have received". I'd want to hear about a time that hasn't gone brilliantly, the feedback you go and what improvements you made. I'd also ask how you felt etc. You will have a main question then further proving questions will be asked on the back of your answers.

One thing to remember, if the interviewer rewords the same question then you're not giving them what they need so try to elaborate, or give a different example.

It's really nothing to worry about. It's not about being competent in the role you're going for. That's what the competency interview is for.

Oh bloody hell I'm rubbish at thinking on my feet but thanks for the tips. I'm going to try and think of some examples and just hope they don't ask me a completely different set of questions.

Thanks for the helpful advice 😊

Hi, didn't they send you info about VBI with either the job info pack, or the invitation to interview? If they did, I think that should explain their approach.
