So the ex fella has lumped me in some considerable debt and in order to pay it off after losing my job was to apply for JSA, whilst 4 months pregnant. I am now just over 5 months gone and I had a interview with macdonalds for full time 30+ hours and JSA told me to apply for it and to not mention pregnancy unless I was offered the job. I have been but manager looks a little hard faced and doesn't seem friendly so I guess guys will I get into trouble or will it be okay? I have a shift tomorrow but I read somewhere by law you have to tell employer by 25 weeks?

In order to get maternity leave you need to tell them by 25 weeks. You won't qualify for maternity pay though. If you were working before you may qualify for maternity allowance

You only need to tell them when you hand in a Matb1 form which your mw will give you to confirm dates for maternity leave. You may get Maternity Allowance rather than SMP.

Warn manager that JOb seekers know you're of and if they sack you then JS may investigate, as when I was sacked for being pg as employer didn't want to pay maternity they threatened him with NI inspectors.....
It was interesting 😂

thank you guys, I start my first shift tomoz and I'm just really worried about telling them in case they get mad, or get funny with me. What is the best way to tell them?

Tell them at the end of your shift
Just state that the job enter have told you that you must inform them on your first shift you are pg
It should sink in that Jc are behind this

I told my boss and she said that I am unfit for the job as it requires heavy lifting and bending the job is a min of 12 months and no other jobs available for me to do so I need to reapply after the baby is born they'll keep me on file. What are my options now? I can't see anyone else hiring me at 5 months pregnant, I've applied for loads! I have no money whatsoever and am struggling. Will I need to go onto benefits for time being? If so which? Thank you guys

You should be able to get Income Support at 29 weeks, you won't be expected to look for work then.
