Would I get paid more for working unsocial hours?

Hi all, thanks for taking the time to read. I've been selected for an interview as a ward clerk and the pay is stated to be £18,157 - Working x3 12 hour shifts Monday to Sunday, + x2 weekends every month on a rolling Rita basis.

It's Pay Band 2.

Could someone please briefly explain how this would work out and if I'd get paid more for working nights?

I know nights are included so would my actual salary (before tax), be more than the original figure given?

I'm currently a Band 3 role and work Monday to Friday, 9 to 5.

Thank you Flowers

Don't know anything about terms and conditions of ward clerks but it's difficult to see how the salary will be more than they've advertised it as being? Surely if the position involved higher pay, they'd put that?

I think otherwise your questions need to be directed to the potential employer.

Is this NHS? If so you can look up the AfC terms and conditions online.

It is NHS, yes.

18K is basic for a Band 2. What I'm getting at is NHS pay more for night shifts so I'm wondering how it can still be 18k as if I were working days

I'd assume that's your basic salary and then you'd get unsociable hours payment on top in line with AfC? Probably best to ask them though?

Thanks Spam, will ask

Yes you will get unsociable hours payment on top of your basic rate

Yes you'll get pay enhancements for anything between 8pm and 8am
Plus for Saturday, Sunday and bank hold
