Apologies for the long post and unsure if it should be under health? Nearly a year ago, I got a promotion in the same office, it meant leaving the Civil Service, but was an easy decision to make. LM not an easy character, not sure if alcohol problems to blame, but generally moody and difficult at the best of times; in just over two years I could count on one hand how many full working weeks he has done. I have been covering my old job and new job for the whole time since promotion with no thanks whatsoever. The whole place isn't particularly friendly and I feel really 'alone' here without the annoying LM. Although, over 100 people work here, I still feel this massive 'loneliness' and that I don't belong here, even though I was here before the majority of people came to this location! I have finally reached the end of my tether and accepted that I will need to change my job (even though its the highest salary I will ever earn) as it is making me depressed. LM has probably never done a complete week at work e.g goes home early Mon, Tues, Weds then come Friday goes into stress mode, making me feel incompetent and useless, although my hours are done and I can finish early as I'm on flexi time. Considering its only us two in the office, I spend more time with him than anyone else. I feel like I'm close to a breakdown and totally unable to do anything other than leave as no action will be taken against him and no-one I can trust here! I met my DD for lunch yesterday and ended up crying because of it all. I have started applying for other jobs as just need to get away, but have that horrible niggly feeling that I'm doing the wrong thing by leaving, but on the other hand, feel like walking out and never coming back.
Any advice really appreciated.

Well my first question is are you being paid to do 2 jobs? Didnt think so, so stop doing your old one. As long as the work is done they have no motivation to employ someone. The work that doesnt get done isnt your problem, its what managers get paid to deal with.

Thanks Red, this is true, LM just shrugs his shoulders and says "well I had to do it" if I complain.
