Am I unemployable?

I am 38 and have lived abroad for 16 years. I have been self-employed in retail for the last 13. I don't have a degree. I have a handful of Scottish Highers and a Scot-tec thingy for a full-time photography course I did at 18. I worked as a photographer, nanny and TEFL teacher before becoming self-employed. I am fluent in spoken and written Spanish. My computer skills are basic. I have 2 DDs, 3.5 yo and 6 mo. (I also have a DP who is a free-lance interpreter and translator but works for me most of the time).
If I were to return to the UK what do you think my employment opportunities would be?

you could teach / tutor spanish, you could be a freelance translator, work as a photographer, consider setting up as a childminder...

lulumama · 31/03/2007 15:09

depends whether it is viable for you to have 2 children in full time nursery or not...

Thanks lulumama
However, I don't like teaching nor am i very good at it, same goes for child-minding and translating tho i do correct DPs work sometimes, but it drives us both mad. Havent done photography for years...

i would email a cv to employment agencies where you are hoping to live, and see what feedback you get, as this will vary regionally ,and depend on what sort of shop etc
