Hi all, did many of you get really bad anxiety with the thought of returning to work at the end of your maternity? I'm going back to work in a few weeks I've had almost 8 months off but I need to get earning a wage again my son is going to my mums (until we get a nursery placement) so I know he's in good hands but I'm feeling really anxious about leaving him although I'm starting to go crazy sat in the house so I know it will be good to get back to it in the long run, I'm also due to start a new job part time whilst staying on with my old employer to bank a few extra hours All of it just has me feeling really anxious... does it get better once back working?

I am going back after DC2 on a few weeks time. I promise it gets better. I feel really sad now thinking about it, but I know from DC1 that after a week or so the worst will be over and I'll be back in the swing of things. It's really nice your DS will be with your mum - DC1 was at bike with DH for the first couple of months and it made my transition back to work so much easier. Sadly not happening this time round and I know that's adding to my anxiety.
Sounds like you'll have a lot on your plate. Don't run yourself into the ground. DS will be well looked after by his grandmother. Try to look after yourself! And - as hard as it is - try to savour all you can the last few weeks rather than stressing about what is round the corner. Maybe prep a bit in the way of batch cooking meals etc, to make life easier for you when you start back at work.
