Advice on Alternative Party Bags Business

Hi, I was just hoping to get a bit of advice on a new business idea I have for selling alternative children's party gift bags. My daughter wants a troll themed party, and I didn't want to get the usual bag full of plastic and sweets. So I googled alternative bags and couldn't't find anywhere selling them online. I found an "make your own troll" bag which you could make up yourself and think its a brilliant idea, so I am going to make the bags up myself for her party but it gave me the idea to start selling them too, and work on other themes. I have attached an image of the bag, and was thinking I would sell them at £3.99 per bag. Would people be interested in it and pay that price? TIA x

No, sorry. I wouldn't have the budget for £4 per child for a party bag.

How much do people generally pay per bag, if you don't mind me asking?

I wouldn't pay that much either for a party bag.

AdalindSchade · 03/08/2017 18:06

No more than £10 for the whole lot I would say

Dancinginthemidnight · 03/08/2017 18:07

Less than £1.

StinkPickle · 03/08/2017 18:08

I aim for £2 a party bag roughly

£4 is high. If you are doing a whole class party then that's a cost of £120 on party bags.

Also, a party bag is usually to take home and would usually have cake in. What you've posted looks more like a party activity?

My dc are older but I can imagine I would have snapped them up a few years ago Smile

I used to make up bags with hair accessories for girls parties and always used to buy footballs/rugby balls (or a job lot of something) for the boys so easily spent £4 per head!

I would definitely buy that or something like it, although I usually only pay £2-3/head. We serve the cake at the party as we find it's way too much faff to send it home.

Thanks so much for replying everyone, I really appreciate it. I have costed up an alternative bag which would be £1.99 and includes a make your own mermaid bracelet, balloon and packet of sweets. Does this seem a bit more realistic? TIA x

OP I would prepare to offer both to test the market. Many people with kids over 6 will have smaller parties of 6-8 kids and be happy to have much nicer party bags, even for £4.
