Just highlighting this www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-40727400 which may make it easier for some of you to enforce your rights against unscrupulous (or just ignorant of the law) employers.

The MD of Pimlico Plumbers is not pleased, see t.co/KZcJWNOqzt. Heaven forbid that anyone should be able to enforce their rights, huh?

Fantastic news!

I'm not so sure it's fantastic. I would agree that to ensure equal access the fees should be higher for firms and that £1200 was too high, but charging say £25 would at least stop the most ridiculous and vexatious claims.

But then you are penalising the many for the few. Maybe the judge could be allowed to make a judgement and if they feel its vexatious then he could impose costs on the individual. My feeling is that usually there has been some unfairness somewhere and they may have brought the wrong type f case and so failed and on examining an individual case this can be determined and should be communicated to the individual concerned.

E,g, someone I know brought a B&H case against employer - but the reality was that it should have been unfair dismissal on the evidence available and she was poorly advised by the union she was in (yes one of the big ones just crap rep) but I couldn't say anything. I was able to influence internally and it was settled for what it was felt she would have got if brought correctly. Not that I ever got any thanks for it!

its great news how many people working minium wages jobs could afford £1200 for a tribunal?

It was a crap law designed to gatekeep poor people from justice.
