Trainee and pregnant. Whats my rights?

I started my new job as a trainee dental nurse at the very end of February, I'd been working on my qualification at another practice but I chose to move as money was better. I'm about 2 months away from qualifying but have just found out that I'm pregnant (6/7weeks). Me and my oh are sooo excited but I'm really concerned about what my rights are? Are my bosses going to get rid of me and say they weren't going to offer me a full time job when I qualify? I'm pretty sure my contract states that I will have a permanent position but I'm still worried!
Also what am I entitled to mat pay wise? I'm on a very low trainee income.
Everything is so overwhelming and there's so much to think about, I don't even know where to start... please helpConfused

You have real employment rights until you have 2 years of service. You can potentially claim if the reason you are dismissed is due to a protected characteristic, such as pregnancy or maternity leave, so it may be worth telling them after you qualify, as you'd probably not be showing but you will be qualified.

In terms of maternity pay, you'd qualify for SMP but you'd need to check the government websites for what you'd actually get, based on what you earn during the reference periods.

Oh and congratulations!

SMP you need to have earned at least £113 per week if you are on an apprentice wage and work 40 hours a week you would have been on £140 per week.
You do need to check your training contract some are fixed term and end when you complete your apprenticeship.
You need to consider when you tell your employer particularly if you are assisting dentists in taking x-rays etc.

You shouldn't have to however the wise thing would be to keep quiet about your pregnancy until your permanent position us confirmed (you'll only be about 3 months so shouldn't be showing). Whilst it shouldn't (and hopefully wouldn't) matter , it's easier for it not to be an issue.
