"At risk of redundancy"

I have just been advised that I am 'at risk of Redundancy' by Human Resources.

They've said that following my meeting tomorrow there will be a two week consultation period.

Is this just a nice way to give me notice that this will certainly happen or could I possibly be deployed elsewhere?

What sort of questions should I have to hand?

Unless rules have changed recently you should be entitled to contributions based JSA.

Ask for and use any support available such as an outplacement support. Having worked for the same company for 20+ years this helped me to get my CV up to date. It was also good to talk to other people who were going through the same process, I felt a bit less of a social pariah!

Find out when they will expect you to actually leave the building. Can you go quickly and take some gardening leave?

Remember that it is that role in that organisation which is redundant not you.
