Argh, under quoted. What would you do?

Potential new client asked for quotes for different pieces of work.

The one they want to go for I have accidentally knocked £300 off. I don't think that's why they chose that option, it's just the right option for them. It would still be worth doing the work for the price I've quoted, but obviously I'd rather get closer to the right amount! What would you do - take the hit, or go back an explain you've made an error (and risk looking unprofessional).

I think you're going to have to suck it up unfortunately. Can you bill any extras that would normally be included but aren't specified?

GruffaloPants · 16/06/2017 21:00

No, it's an all in price. I'm really kicking myself!

As a potential new client can you explain that the price includes a first time discount? You might need to take the hit but also explain in advance why your price for thr second item will be higher.

I like GloGirl's suggestion actually. It's a good one.

Thanks. There probably isn't a huge amount of repeat business to be had. I think it would be ok though to revise the price if they want anything more - it's a fairly big organisation so £300 is nothing to them. I was really pleased about securing the work but this has put a dampener on it. Need to pull myself together!
