Can anyone offer me some advice please. I'm currently on maternity leave and I asked to return to work for 3 days a week, I previously worked full time.
After putting my request in writing and then having a meeting, I got a phone call asking what my plans would be if my partner were to get a full time job (our plan was for us to share childcare) I now think this was inappropriate for this to be queried but stupid me answered.
I've now received a letter refusing my request on the grounds the office will be understaffed for 2 days a week to the detriment of customers service. However there was no maternity cover in place while I have been off and the last member of staff (same department) was allowed to come back for 3 days. But when she left she was replaced with a full time staff member if the makes any difference.
Does anyone have any advice for appealing?
