Should I stay or should I go?

My employer starting yet another restructure. I love my job and work pt but blooming sick of these restructures. My role is potentially at risk (again) blah blah. Two weeks going through the motions of supposed collective consultation but on day one a group of us were sectioned off to a seperate meeting and advised our roles were affected and at risk others in exactly the same roles in different locations an hour to an hour and a half travelling time away have been told their roles are safe. Yesterday we were told we are now not at risk but now potentially at risk. I enjoy my job but wonder whether I should go but only thing I can see out there is poorly paid temporary work?

I would prepare for the worst and hope for the best. So hope that you stay on but update cv and see whats available around you etc. If you happen to find something that really appeals then go for it. Youre not at rock bpttom yet so can still be choosy.

Thanks I am thinking that. I would really like to stay and know I will have to apply for my own job at the very least.
Can anyone recommend where to look for a job these days obviously local paper and found Indeed but anywhere else I should be looking? Thanks

I would stay. If you have been there long enough you will get redundancy pay which will give you some time if you do end up losing your job.

In the meantime still look and if you see something that you like go for it.

Yes I know been there just over 10 years have a decent salary and job fairly close to home generous leave allowance, fairly flexible etc etc. So I know to get something I would be taking a pay cut, likely get less leave, less flexibility etc. So over time redundancy payment would be a little cushion but future earnings likely to be much less.

Bit tricky to know without knowing your sector and qualifications. I would start by making a linked in profile and googling. You will soon get a feel for which sites are relevant. You could also research what agencies there are that could help. If youre in the private sector then go to a competing firm.

What job do you do?

HE Advice sector but realise I would likely have to come down from this in my area if I want to stay local for family. I would consider admin communication coordinator working with people type positions.
