Late wage payment

I am paid by cheque usually dated for 25th/27th of each month, this according to my boss should clear by the 1st of each month. 99% of the time I am still waiting on the 2nd or 3rd of the month for the funds to clear. I put the cheque in on the day dated so there is I'm not intentionally making it late, there is always a weekend and this month the bank holiday to deal with. He will not pay by bank transfer or cash.

I am in a situation where the business is being managed by another business due to a legal situation, so don't see him on a regular basis.

What are my options?

I'd look for another job if I were you. This - "He will not pay by bank transfer or cash." is usually indicative of cash flow problems and the business doesn't sound very stable.

What does your contract say about when you'll be paid by? The legal claim would be either breach of contract and/or non-payment of wages but neither claim is worth bringing if you've been paid within a couple of days of when it is expected, because you have no loss.

I have this problem too.

Pay day is a Saturday this month so I won't get paid until the Monday.

It's a massive pain.

At my husband's firm when pay day falls at a weekend or bank holiday they are paid early (except for the partners who are paid late).

Can you adjust all your DD's so they match to the worst case scenario? Most companies allow you to select a date for them to collect the payment. For a monthly DD they normally allow for any date provided it is within the month in question.

I agree with flowery, I don't like the sound of the financial standing of your employer
