Having had a really difficult time at my current job, I am going for an interview today at a pre-school as the manager. I'm really nervous now, despite knowing what I need to. I really want this job, the positives of it are all so brilliant and there is only a couple of negatives.
Positives:
~it is term time only so plenty of time to spend with DD and time to get on with my degree
~it is a manager's job, so no more answering to people who really don't have any regard for health and safety issues where young children are concerned (but thats another story)
~it is 5 hours a day and 2 of those are for paperwork, so no more bringing work home with me
~I'll be able to go to uni on a tuesday night and actually take in what I am being taught, rather than feeling so totally knackered that I can barely keep my eyes open
~more time to do housey things, like cleaning (much to DHs joy).
Negatives:
~involves getting the train every morning, although not exceptionally far
~it is a managers job so likely to be a bit more stressful but the short hours should balance this out a bit
So, please send your good luck vibes this way! I am a good, professional nursery nurse and I feel that my time has come to have a wander into management, being able to implement my own rules and feelings on certain subjects. I have lots of experience (been doing the job for 8 years, plus have DD) and I know I can do it.
Thanks for listening!
