Going to give my manager a scare today..........

We've got a night staff meeting and I'm going to hand her a letter in a sealed envelope. Given the "final warning" (which doesn't exist in my contact LOL) I was given last week I can almost guarantee that she'll think it's a resignation letter and that they've got rid of me quicker than they expected...........in actual fact it's just going to be my written letter telling them I'm pg and when I'm intending to take my Maternity leave from, plus letting them know that my Dr.s won't issue my MATB1 until I'm 28 weeks pg so they'll get it then. Can't wait to see her initial reaction when I hand the letter to her evil

why did you get a final warning?

colditz · 07/02/2007 12:09

excellent

CD - see here

She'll really panic thinking she'll have to find someone to cover for me from a months time....when infact (fingers crossed LOL) I'll still be there

well I've now finished the letter and decided to ask for my Work Risk Assessment to take place - wasn't going to bother (especially as I'm now 23 weeks pg and only have 2 months left before I leave) but I think I may have the begiinnings of SPD - getting quite painful between my legs (at the top - groin area) if I've had to walk up and downstairs a lot, be on my feet for ages and do lots of bending down and picking up etc etc. Don't want to aggrevate it any more than I have to - and as I mention "legally entitled" to etc she may start to get 'whiffs' of the fact that I'm pretty clued up on my rights .............going to hit her with the "big" one (my appeal letter) on Friday

Well just had a really good night staff meeting - it wasn't very long - but NONE of the issues brought up were things that I had done (usually things that are brought up are things that I've previously been told I haven't done properly/haven't done at all) which was LOVELY .

At the end she mentioned about what would be happening when I left on Maternity leave - told her I was starting on 1st May (Mat Leave) and she added "straight after Annual Leave so end of March"....which is good as I thought they were going to get funny about me taking my AL in April.

I then handed her the letter at the end of the meeting and she did have a momentary look of panic on her face .

Go FA! That is brilliant.
I was lurking on your other thread a bit.
I had trouble with a previous employer who made me redundant at the end of my Mat Leave. Tool them to tribunal and ended up with over £8K

Am now carefully writing my appeal letter and hit them with that one on Friday

Ah FA, the penny has just dropped as to who you are!

fannyannie · 07/02/2007 19:56

lol Fimbo - that's because I haven't been "quoting" as much as I used to

Hi FA

So glad to hear that you managed to get the advice that you needed.

Good luck with it all at work.
