If you work part time/jobshare and do a Monday, how does your work deal with Bank Holidays?

I've negotiated a jobshare 50/50 but I'm doing the front end of the week. I used to get 25 days holiday plus bank holidays. Now they're giving me 16.5 but I have to take the bank hols as holiday and give a holiday slip. I think they're assuming 4 monday bank holidays....
How does your work treat these days, if at all?

I work 10 hours a week for one employer and for each bank holiday I get a 2-hour credit

it is a bit of a bum since I then I have to make up that day - I usually work all of Mondays so for me that's 6 hours to make up

having said that though I think it is the only fair way since my friend worked for an employer who gave everyone who worked Mondays the whole day off - she worked Tuesdays Wednesdays and Thursdays and never got a single day

so my answer is, it varies

Same as yours!
Annual leave entitlement is multiplied by the proportion of the week worked (0.5 in your case so gives you 12.5 days), then bank holidays (there are 8 this year) are multiplied by the same number (so you will be entitled to 4 days). These two numbers are added together to give the total number of days leave including BHs. Then a holiday slip is needed for all holiday and for all bank holidays taken.

it varies - at my workplace, if you are part time and normally work on a Monday, you have to use your "bank holiday leave" entitlement on that day.

If you normally have Monday as a non-working day you can use the bank holiday leave on another day of your choice - so for me, it's better to work the back end of the week.

My friend has asked to work Mondays at her work place as they don't do pro-rata bank hols - instead if you normally work on a Monday you just get that day off.

if you work part time, mine add them onto annual leave pro-rated.
so if there are 8 bank holidays, and you do 50% job, then you get 4 extra days holiday.

so if you work mondays, you have to take them as holiday so you will end up being able to take fewer full weeks off.

(but depending on your holiday booking procedure at work, you may be able to get away with not filling in your holiday form for bank holidays at all!! )

Essentially the same as you.

OK for mine - I work 60% of FTE (Full time Employee)

I get 60% of the holiday of everyone else & 60% of everyone elses bank holiday. That is added together to give me a total holiday entitlement (which looks as though that is how your holiday os calculated).

Using that total entitlement I have to subtract any bank holidays I would otherwise work - before I can work out my 'flexile holiday'. Unfortuately it means you loose out a bot as most bank holidays fall on a Monday - and you will end up using more than 4days holiday which have been allocated for you to cover them. Unfortunately I think the law says that your employer only has to give you 50% of the bank holiday entitlement - which is usually 8 days.

I work for the civil service who are v. generous with time off etc (6 months full pay maternity for eg). I work 22.2 hrs per week which is 3 days of 7.5 hrs per day.

FT staff get a 7.5 credit per BH, whereas mine is pro-rataed so i get a 4.5 hr credit. This is a pain when a BH falls on a Monday as i am effectively 3 hrs down on my flexi (i tend to use half days of holiday to make it up), but come easter when the BH is on a friday then i will still get a 4.5 hr credit even though i would not usually work that day so it should come even over the course of a whole year. This is on top of my holiday entitlement but that is also prorataed.

I think if you have a look on the TUC website there is a section about workers rights and entitlements. It does sound like you are getting half your old leave plus half your BHols though.
