Redundancy: is this fair?
Major contract lost, everyone on consultation.
4 out of 24 staff involved in the decision making. They are all staying in their roles.
Very short consultation - first meeting with decision shared at second meeting less than 2 weeks later.
I was told my role was redundant.
Those who were in and out came out of the meetings with a clear understanding of whether they were in or out.
I cannot see how the scoring system apparently applied could possibly have resulted in the positive outcome for some and negative for others if there was any robustness or objectivity involved.
A couple of days later I am told the redundancy was provisional and I can apply for one of the remaining roles, even though people have already clearly been offered those roles.
I suggest an application/appeal will not be fair based on the person involved leading the original process and the apparent irregularity in the scoring process and ask how I can be confident the appeal process would be different from the original process.
The reponse is an acceptance I don't want to appeal.
