Will these hours kill me?

Ok, we are DESPERATE for extra dosh.

I wouldn't get a lot for and ft/pt job after childcare costs (Have 2 dss, one who's 2 and the other 4 months)

I am currently teaching the cello 4 nights a week (one hour at a time) I have spent money on advertisisng this to get more pupils etc, but unfortunately, I can't magic pupils out of thin air.

So I have taken a job in a pub for one week night + sat afternoon.

However, this still nowhere NEAR covers what we need, so I'm going to have to do nights somewhere along the line, I think.

So that's 5 evenings a week, plus sat afternoon, plus the very real possibility of doing 3 or 4 nightshifts a week shelf stacking or cleaning or something (whoopdeefuckingdo! That's what I did a degree for...)

It's going to kill me isn't it?

What alternative do I have?

I have tried to do Usbourne/Mini IQ type stuff, and I was crapola, so that avenue is closed to me.

lol!!! Ok DB, you can be the person they describe in the papers who has "Insider Knowledge"

I'm not getting through any small windows though, as I am a little tubby.

Shall I drive the getaway?

What about importing cellos from China and selling them in the UK?

What about a mystery shopper?

Or market research?

Both can be done with your children with you.

Not major earnings but I think you could get a few hundred a month.

Mystery shopping is rubbish money and requires quite a bit of concentration (not easy with 2 kids in tow). You would need to do quite a few missions at a time to make any money, I am registered with one company but not many jobs up here and they are so specific I can't do most of them.

Not sure what market reasearch you could do with kids along with you???

Yeh you can do the getaway if you want my car is buggered and the clutch is slipping.

wheresthehamster · 29/12/2006 21:22

My SIL did it for a few years stopping passers-by in the high street with her children in a buggy by her side. Probably not easy but can be done.

You are right regarding mystery shopping and areas you have to be lucky.
Someone I knew who did it used to go away for weekends to hotels and had to assess their child-friendliness. All you could eat, totally free and getting paid for it, sounded great to me!

The ones I got offered were..
Take a prescription into a certain chemist, very specific things you had to ask and checkout, very hard to remember it all as you can't be seen to be refering to notes.
Get eyes tested, try on loads of glasses etc,had to be short sighted.
There were some meal ones but you were told what to order and had loads of daft questions to ask, very narrow age range of kids for that one and were crappy chain restruants anyway.

They are mostly less than £10 a go and refund for whats bought, but not full reimbursment for meals.

o.k. you've convinced me, bank job it is then!
