Where on earth do I enter simplified expenses (ie mileage) on the online self assessment form!?

I'm new to this (as is about to become painfully clear)!

I have trawled through my online self assessment form multiple times now and I can't see where to enter my business mileage. I want to use simplified expenses (45p per mile) rather than exact expenses (fuel) for this, which I believe I am entitled to do.

I will also need to find the simplified expenses bit for entering my costs of working from home.

Can anyone direct me to the right bit of the form?

Put all of your turnover in one box
all of your costs in the totals box for the expenses
two numbers
that is all HMRC need

Thanks TalkinPeace

I didn't know if 'simplified expenses' had to be entered separately.

I'll just enter them in the one 'expenses' box.

Just so paranoid about getting something wrong and being fined due to my ignorance!

Whereas if ou earn more which I do you have to break it down into all kinds of categories and show them all on the form. Sounds like you don't earn enough to have to do that,

Thanks. I'd only just started my freelance business in the financial year up to April 15 so my income was tiny.

I've got a fancy spreadsheet set up for April 15-16 with expenses broken down into the separate headings just in case I do need them for the next tax return but for this year the figures really are quite small.
