FTE/pro rata/term time

If a job says £14 586-£15 474 FTE for 8.45am-3.15pm, Monday to Friday, term time only, how do I work out the actual take home salary?

I'm guessing it's 30 hours a week (half hour for lunch?) which would give an annual salary of £11,021.98 (assuming the lowest rate and a 37.5 FTE), but do I have to pro rata again for term time? Or is that already taken into account in the original salary stated?

I was offered a job working as a school librarian but hadn't realised i needed to pro rata again as I was only needed during term time. I was unable to take the job in the end because of it and it was a job I really wanted. At the time when I mentioned it to the library association they told me that was what happened for school term posts (pro rata twice for hours and terms).

If I was you I would Pro Rata it again, that will be the lowest pay. At least then you know the minimum pay.

Yes, the FTE is for someone doing 37 weeks for 52.14 weeks pa (including paid holidays). If it's a local government (school) job, the actual salary is calculated:

FTE x weeks per year plus paid holidays/52.14 x hours pw/37

So for this job you'll be paid 38 weeks plus approx. 5 weeks holidays= 43.1weeks

14586 x 43.1/52.14 x 30/37 = £9776 pa
