How do you handle this? Was promoted in April but had new manager from a company we acquired. My relationship with my manager has deteriorated as she had started micromanaging me and I haven't taken too kindly to it. A new orga came out and I was promised team lead a few months ago but it's not happened. I feel I'm being watched like a hawk (I hads
An outburst at work saying Id had enough and was stressed due to the hassling). My old manager has moved sections to a different area due to becoming out of favour as well. Is it time to get another job or can I retrieve this situation. If I had my choice I'd have a different manager!

This has happened to me recently too. I used to love my job but earlier this year my lovely manager left and since then it's been pretty horrendous.

My new line manager is a micro manager to the extreme and emails me up to 50 times a day with the most minor of requests.

I ended up so stressed during the summer I had to take annual leave jus to have a breather. Unfortunately it got worse and due to a restructure I've been effectively managed out of my role.

Tbh, it has been one of the most upsetting experiences I've had in my working life and has damaged my confidence in the public sector.

When I saw my GP last week she told me pretty much all the patients she signs off for work related stress are from the public sector, which says it all really.

If you want my advice look for a new job and don't get to the point where I'm at where my health has suffered. I'm a pretty strong person and never thought this would happen to me but it has and so I'm moving on but not without a fight, I might add.

It's been a bitter learning experience but no job is worth getting ill over. Get out before you're pushed!!

Update your cv. Get previous nice managers contact details and ask her if its ok to name her as a reference. Start job hunting.

I think new line managers are a disaster waiting to happen in most cases. Every single time I had one, there was trouble ahead.

They're new, insecure in the role and tend to micromanage as they don't have much to do. Awful!

The last one I had was a terrible bully and the new one now is no better. I've been suffering from stress, headaches, insomnia for more than two years. But the job is good and flexible to combine with childcare. So still there, suffering every week as I don't know how I am going to be treated.

I sympathise OP. Being micromanaged is unbearable. I work in public sector too.
