My husband just asked to leave his job after his probation period ended. His Manager made him a scapegoat; someone messed up an account and all the blame was put onto him. He never got any training or any sort of support. He is a hardworking and simple guy and people often take advantage of him because of his good nature.
This is his second time when he was asked to leave after probation period even though he was doing his job alright. He had a retail background and wanted to further his career so he went into resourcing role in Recruitment Company after 2 months they told him that due to company not making profit they have to let him go. He managed to get another job in a small Recruitment Company as a trainee recruitment consultant but after his probationary period was told ?he is not fit for the business?. That?s all they said.
Now he is desperately trying to get into another job but companies not taking him seriously (understandable) because of his lack of experience. I don?t know if it?s a good idea to tell the company about his previous experiences.
My questions is : what employers check in reference checks because we are thinking of saying it was a fixed term contact rather than he was asked to leave after probation period.
Second what other option he has now other than retail. We ran out of idea to what job he can apply for if he decides to change career. He only has retail experience.
Thanks in advance.
