I would like to start a children s party business from home, we have a large paddock and would like to organize party's in a large tipi, I would provide all decorations, party food and entertainment, with perhaps two themes one for boys and one for girls. would this be something that appeals to you? and how much would you be willing to pay for the service? any help would be much appreciated.

Really depends on the entertainment you are providing? I don't think the Tipi part of it is enough to encourage parents to may more than hiring a village hall with the same entertainment for half the price IYSWIM?

Can you explain how the whole set up would work a bit more? Smile

ok so i am very open to ideas but initially thought of entertainment such as providing dressing up rails, arts and crafts and perhaps staff to dress up as say fairy's or pirates to present birthday boy or girl with a crown or sash and to read stories, possibly create your own party bags and music for traditional party games like pass the parcel

IYSWIM? not sure what you mean by this?

Sounds lovely and price depends on where you are in the country, to be honest. You should have one or two 'gender neutral' themes as well - joint mixed gender birthday parties are quite common and in general, many people prefer their children not to have 'boys' and 'girls' things these days.

IYSWIM = if you see what I mean Smile

It stands for if you see what I mean.

What is your location like? Do you have a lot of families close by?

IYSWIM = If you see what I mean.

If you are going with a Tipi I would stick to a Cowboy and Indian style theme with associated dressing up and games and food as I don't see a link between fairies/pirates and a tipi

Thanks Dylannells lol got it,,,,,I am between Bristol and Bath, mixed gender partys is a good point it would certainly make things easier when supplying decorations ect,, perhaps a circus theme.. would you prefer to provide your own decorations and food ect. i was thinking if i supplied the whole package it may be more appealing to allow parents to sit back and enjoy the fun?

thanks cuntycowfacemonkey, i was trying to stay away from cowboys and indians to try and be a bit more pc the tipis will look something like this www.magicalcamping.co.uk/gallery2/#prettyPhoto so thaught they would suit different ideas for themes

Also would the buisness be more apealing if i brought the tipis to your own venue fully decorated perhaps with the option for sleep overs? i find it difficult for ideas for my 13 year olds bdays now< i know she would love this?

Not sure, sounds a bit twee, although the sleep over option sounds a lot more exciting. Eith campfires and marshmallows! I might consider that dependent on £££ although I'm not in your area anyway.

montyharvey · 04/09/2015 14:22

Thanks DancingDinosaur! would have to check out insurance and health and safety for campfires but love the idea. ive done a bit of research for similar things seems an average of about £250. will certainly look more into the sleep overs

Definitely. That would be a cool party.
