Third party harassment

Over the past couple of months myself and a few colleagues have been subject to harassment by a customer, on a daily basis. As the customer services manager I have dealt with this customer. All correspondence is by email, and can amount to 3/4 emails a day. 6 weeks ago I received an threatening email, so I informed the company MD, and reported it to the police, as I felt I had to protect the staff. 2 weeks after this I receive other emails that have content relating to personal details of myself and staff, I know where you live..... Family members names......again I inform the company MD and the police.

Two days ago I receive an email threatening to kidnap my son.... "By the time you get home from work tonight I will have your son".... And "I will do to (my sons name), what you did to my children", I believes I killed his children. ( I didn't). I immediately informed company MD and police.

I had to call my sons nursery, grandparents and my husband. I have since been signed off work by my Dr. I am a little fraught.

I have kept company MD informed the whole time, and I have had no response, not even an acknowledgment back from him.
Police are telling me, he is known to them, so don't worry. I can't not worry!!!
Lawyer says I should get an injunction, but this is something I feel the company should be helping with. I have heard on the grapevine, that the company MD feels that I have done something wrong, so it's for me to deal with. Also, my fault for having social media. (As I believe this is where the customer got my information).
My job is customer facing..... a point of contact for all customer queries and complaints.... I was just doing my job.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated..... Am I being too sensitive, should the company be supporting me, should the police be doing more???

It's a small company, I am customer services, HR, Personnel, Health & Safety..... I report to MD. We have external help for more complicated HR matters, and they have advised I pressure the police. No mention of support from company.. I just don't know if I am over reacting and should just pressure the police.... feeling rather lost... Police saying not to worry.... I think I will call ACAS today, and just see where I stand, I believe it's only called harassment when it against a protected characteristic, in this case it is not. I don't know.... Head spinning....

Surely your company have a duty of care towards you? Have they put any measures in place to protect you and try and remedy this?

I would def be targeting them to take action whilst similarly protecting yourself via the police. Have they charged him with harassment?

Are the police doing anything about this guy? They need to be arresting him for harassment & threats to kill.
