Sickness and resigning

My 21 year old nursery nurse daughter has a very severe skin complaint which is very painful and sore. She has tendered her resignation but is so stressed and unwell that she is considering coming back home immediately. I know she will get SSP and I will get her medical help/sick certificate sorted out but what happens when her employment ends in 2 weeks time. Can she claim any sickness benefit.
She has no partner or children.

I don't really know anything about benefits, but I think it's Employment and Support Allowance that people can claim if they are not fit to work.

Did she hand her notice in because of this condition - does she feel she will not ever be fit to work in that job? Might have been better to have stayed employed and just signed off sick in that case, and been eligible for SSP.

I dont know how long she has worked in her job & what her entitlements would have been

I have known people who have been signed off sick for over 2 years & the company had to keep their job open for them & pay & benefits

I dont think she should have handed her notice in

If she has a skin condition you can get persciption special cream or maybe gloves would help ?

I hope she will feel better soon
