Questions you'd like to ask at interview but don't dare

So I'm looking for a new job and its always good to have questions for the interviewer and to try and understand if you actually want to work there.
I'd really like to ask about the gender split within the team and especially at senior level, but I can't really can I?

Are you always going to be as nice as you're coming across right now?

They never are. Hmm

If I'm at an interview and I'm asked why do you want the job, the real reason is money, but I always come out with some other bullshit.
Not every interviewer thinks candidates have to ask questions, look towards the bottom of this page:

This blog is from the IT field and in the States, so may not apply to every scenario.

DH and I have a hobby that involves an annual event and the one thing I really want to know about prospective jobs is how easy will it be for me to take annual leave that that specific time each year. I have yet to find any remotely suitable way of phrasing that question. I've shied away from applying for great looking jobs because it suits me well despite the actual job not being enough for me.

Would love to just be able to be honest, lay my cards on the table and find out if a prospective job will suit my lifestyle.

I know someone who got a job and ended up working in a really small dark room with no one else on the same floor, so last time I had an interview I asked if I could see where I'd be working. Sounds a funny request, but my boss to be showed me and apparently I got the job because he felt he would get on with me (even though some of the others were more qualified) - so I guess a few extra minutes spent got me the job.
