Online Admin Training

Hi, I am looking for some advice. I am a Mystery Shopper/Market Researcher and to cut a long story short, I am sick of some of the aspects of my work, particularly being self-employed and everything that brings, I am therefore looking to get back into admin work. I had several years experience before the kids (8 years ago), but I have just been rejected by my local hospital staff bank cause of lack of skills/experience. I am looking to do a medical terminology course and also to upgrade my admin skills, although I can find my way round Word and Excel, as I have been told that this will increase my chances of getting on the staff bank. Any online course suggestions would be helpful, as due to work, a DH that works shifts, difficult for me to go to college.

I'm pretty hot on Office but it's down to the fact that I have done lots of jobs and learned as I've gone along. I've learned by being asked to do things and seeing other people do stuff.

I'm in a similar boat. Look at Keynet training they do medical secretarial courses by distance learning. I'm in a rut - oldest starts school in sept and I'm dying to use my brain after 4 years as a sahm. Want to do something secretarial, preferably in the medical field. Keynet look good, or there is Pitman (v expensive ) lewis college and a few others. I'm worried in my case that a medical secretary course is too specialised and there won't be any jobs and then I won't be able to get a job in another field sigh so then I wonder whether to do a more general secretarial course. Ideally I'd like to work part time for the NHS in a medical admin job. How much time / money do you have available for training?
