I don't know whether to feel upset or disconcerted - I'm 8 months pregnant so may be more sensitive than usual but i have never seen such a thing.

Should i chalk it up to experience or flag it with my manager?

Said colleague is on a final warning for other reasons.

It's unacceptable behaviour at work so you're absolutely in the right if you flag to your manager.

I think what I would do would depend on the circumstances: if it were a one-off from somebody under stress and completely out of character I would have a quiet word with them directly to check they're ok but state that I'd report it if it happened again with anyone; if they've got previous or there are other issues I would prob flag directly to my manager.

Anger issues. Should be professional at work though.......

AdoraBell · 07/05/2015 19:07

You are not being over sensitive. They may be stressed by the situation but really, if they are on final warning due to other things then they must have done something sever already. This is not your issue.

I think you should speak to your manager unless you are certain that having a quiet word would work.

Many thanks, was quite upsetting.

Hope you're ok Essex.

HermioneGrangerHair · 08/05/2015 13:02

Wow! You must report this. Regardless of what else your colleague has going on, nobody should be subjected to that kind of behaviour in their workplace. Angry Report it to your manager and let them work it out from there.

gamerwidow · 08/05/2015 13:14

Depends on the circumstances, if this is out of character I would let it go you never know what other stresses they are under to snap with such unacceptable behaviour. If it is part of a wider pattern of aggressive behaviour then definitely report.

Floggingmolly · 08/05/2015 13:15

Chalk it up to what "experience"? You're not the one with the problem; report it!!

fieldfare · 08/05/2015 13:17

I'd have got up, walked out and straight into my mangers office or HR. It's totally unacceptable!

WeAllHaveWings · 09/05/2015 14:18

Agree with pp, if it was very out of character for this person AND they later apologised/explained I would let it go. Otherwise I would report to my line manager.

RonaldMcDonald · 09/05/2015 14:25

deal with it asap
report to manager and hr

then the person in question will have a chance to get the anger help they need

Carlywurly · 09/05/2015 14:28

Totally not on. Threatening, intimidating, unprofessional and totally unacceptable under any circumstances. Given you're also 8 months pregnant, he's an absolute tool if he thinks this is ok. Report for your sake and that of everyone else.
Hope you're ok Thanks

Aussiemum78 · 09/05/2015 14:35

That sounds physically intimidating - standing over a heavily pregnant woman, shouting and thumping things. I'd definitely report.

MaryKatherine · 10/05/2015 12:01

Yes, agree with others...report! Not on!

MissDemelzaCarne · 10/05/2015 12:02

I'd report it.

tribpot · 10/05/2015 12:02

Definitely report.

Skiptonlass · 13/05/2015 18:40

Report. I have a very stressful job and I don't go about shouting or thumping tables.
