Not going back to work, employer hassling me to know 'my plans'

Hi there, anyone experiencing the same issue, I'm not going back to work because of childcare costs but have been told by friends not to say anything yet 8months in from 12months leave. My boss is hassling me for a return to work date, do I have to tell her yet?

Found this, HTH

Trying to find the right link on the gov website though.

They have to assume you are taking the full year. You only need to notify them if you are going back prior to that date. You will still need to give them the correct notice specified if you are resigning from the job e.g. If you need to give 2 months notice you would advise them 2 months before your maternity leave ends

I'd imagine so so alternative arrangements can be made. My manager asked me during my risk assessment of I plan to return but then my company states that mat pay would still be paid regardless

i don't think you have to tell them anything, but is there any reason you can't just tell them now? If you're returning to work you have to give notice of a change to the date you return, or if you want to request flexible working hours, but AFAIK if you're leaving then you just have to give them your normal notice period.

Do you have any enhanced maternity pay that would be impacted by you not returning to work?
