Hello! Mumsnet Jobs team here. We've noticed this thread is fairly old now, and some of the information is out of date. We've put together this article of advice, tips and tricks to start working from home. Alternatively, you can look at the work from home opportunities on Mumsnet Jobs. We hope this is helpful!

I am a stay at home mum of a 10 month old baby. My husband is in the army which means he is constantly going out which makes it even harder to find a job could you please suggest ways I could earn as a stay at home. I have only finished my A levels

You'll probably find the pyramid scheme floggers descend on this thread PDQ. Stay away from them.

Hello Merina

Child minding

Dog walking

Pet sitting

Cleaning

Knitting

Avon or Betterware - established brands

Telesales (be careful do not pay any money to join)

Ironing

Celebration cake baking or muffins or biscuits

Buy & sell on Ebay

Make crafts to sell on Etsy

Get paid to be secret shopper

Get paid to do surveys online

Get a part time job, I believe you should get some child care paid for if in UK

Good luck

As someone else said, stay away from Pyramid schemes.
How about childminding? Sewing, as someone has mentioned?

I had a go with Avon a while back but you really need to sell a lot ( at least £80 every 3 wks) which is hard if you have a small round as friends and family will only buy so much. Also it's quite disheartening as you have to buy the brochures and lots of people don't put them back out for you. Gave it up as it was too time consuming.
Not everyone's cup of tea but I iron from home. I work for a local company and they provide everything I need: proper iron, hangers etc. But you have to be fairly fast to earn decent money. Is it possible you could do this for people you know and see how you like it.
It's so hard when you have no childcare and I really struggled to find something that suited me

I saw this one the other day and thought how good it would be for a SAHM who can still cover childcare

I do a lot of different working from home jobs, mainly online.

I work for a text answering service, though they're not taking on atm. I'm about to start a temp contract as a website's local listings editor.
I also blog, mystery shop, attend focus groups and take on any random work that is thrown my way.

There are things such as web search evaluation jobs that pay per hour.

If online work isn't up your street then as others have said childminding is good if there is a need for it in your area, selling crafts/cakes/sweets.

Good Luck in your hunt :)
