Interview when pregnant

I've got an interview tomorrow for a job I applied for before I found out I was pregnant. Am I obliged to tell them at the interview that I am or should I wait to see if I am offered the job? And if I am offered the job, should I tell them before I accept or wait until I have actually started? I know I won't qualify for maternity pay from them but I feel there is something morally wrong in not mentioning it...if anyone has any advice I would be very grateful.

Don't tell them! By law it shouldn't make any difference to whether they offer you the job but you can bet you bottom dollar it will.
Supposing - like a friend of mine - you didn't find out you were preganant till 4 and a half months? Then you wouldn't be able to tell them anyway. You are certainly not under any legal obligation to tell them.
Good luck with the interview!

ps I can really understand your moral dilemma, but if you deseve the job then it would be a shame to wreck your chances of getting it.

Difficult one. If you are employed in another job now, it would prob be better to stay where you are for all kinds of reasons.

If you haven't got a job at present, then I would say that you haven't got much to lose by not telling them.

I would bet that you won't get the job if you tell them, even though by law it is not "allowed" to be a consideration, it most definitely is for many employers.

I know so many women who have been made redundant while pregnant, so this is the flipside of the coin .

There is no legal obligation to tell them before an offer has been made. I would wait until offered the job (at least verbally) and then tell them.

I have been in this situation and also felt it was morally wrong to not tell. I also felt that I could not dedicate myself fully to the job (due to the nature of work). Also I was thinking that maybe I should not be starting a new job and 3 months or so later going off for 6 months and then potentially deciding not to come back at all. However I was in a good job already so had the luxury to be able to do the morally right thing.

I waited until I was made a verbal offer (although not legally binding)). They decided to hire somebody else.

thanks all - I will wait and see if I'm offered the job first, and then tell them - I am not telling anyone I am pregnant at this stage so I guess I should just include them with everyone else!

I'm with goingquietlymad, I moved job when pregnant and whilst it was definitely the right thing to do, having been there such a short time has made it extremely difficult to negotiate a good flexible working arrangement.

I told them once I had the verbal offer, very difficult for them to back out at this stage but means you recapture a bit of the moral high ground.
