Anyone teach ESOL?

That is, teach English to speakers of other languages? I'm a trained secondary teacher who has always fancied doing this. I'm currently at home with the dc but want to return to work in a few years. I would love to do a course but not sure which one and am not really up with the jargon. Any help appreciated!

A decade since I did mine but CELTA or TESOL were the recognised qualification. I did a CELTA course over a month or so, intense but great. I had so much fun doing it! In the UK and abroad. It's can be a real lovely job.

In spite of my garbled language there I can actually speak English :)

Thanks for that! Will look into it Smile

Yes CELTA is great. I did the three month "part-time" course - also it was a mixture of online coursework and practical teaching sessions. It was still really intense but v enjoyable. There's no way, with kids, that I'd have been able to do the 1 month intensive course. I did my course at International House. Very good.

Thanks, Mabel. Yes, I don't think my toddlers would approve of me doing anything too 'intense' so that would be a concern.
May I ask if you are working in this area at the moment?
