Has anyone done a Wave personality questionnaire before an interview?

They say you have to be honest or they can catch you out. Are you really meant to be totally honest? Eg if they ask, do you enjoy thinking creatively, my answer would be no, but do I have to say yes? Apparently they can catch you out at interview if you are not totally truthful. I know I should be honest, but generally you try to hide your flaws! It's for a management role, and it's run by Penna.

Thanks

It's quite common. Quite a lot of my clients do it for interviews. The thing is with personality questionnaires is that they ask the same question in different ways - so yes it is best to be honest. If it is a job you really want & you think you would be good at I would recommend some interview practice (or even coaching) to think about how you might frame your answers to interview questions about what might come up in WAVE

Try this. It gives a bit of advice with the results .

Thanks both. Unfortunately, I will get the questionnaire on Monday, interview on Thursday, so no time to practise. I'll look at that link. I feel sick!

Don't lie, but do answer the personality test as your best possible self, if you know what I mean.

I did the test in Piggys link, and the results were good, ie they indicated I was suitable for the role. I only slightly exaggerated one or two answers. Blush So there does seem to be a right and wrong answer, despite them saying there isn't. Confused

I think I'll try to answer honestly, but for something like, do you like public speaking, instead of 'strongly disagree', I'll put 'disagree' or 'neutral'.

My boss made me apply for this role. I really don't need the stress of the assessment centre or the promotion, and think I will die of nerves. There's a role play too.
