Looking for some Feedback

I'm a mum of two, who's thinking of launching my own business, and would like some feedback on the idea. I want to sell gift boxes (like hampers, but more modern) for new mums. We can find baby gifts at the drop of a hat, but mum, who's done all the hard work, gets a couple of cards and a pat on the back...

... I want to offer various packages, or various price ranges, to help new mums get through those first days.

For example, a basic package for BF mums would include (and this is not concrete)...
a tube of the best nipple cream
box of nipple pads
a beautiful etsy style BF necklace
a photocopy-able BF diary template
a luxury ready meal
a luxury snack or two
a book (either mumsnets' own "why did nobody tell me" or "the baby owners manual)
a couple of calpol sachets
ashton and parsons teething powder

etc etc

And as the package/price increases, there are other items such as
beautiful faye and lou coloured muslins
Baby outfit
Baby toy
Milestone cards
items for daddy
... all high quality luxury 'treats'
... all in a beautiful box, with a personalised card.

My questions :
Is this something a) you would've appreciated? What else would you have wanted? What wouldn't you have wanted?
Is this something b) you would consider buying for a friend / relative
c) how much would you be happy to pay for the example above?
d) how much in general would you be happy to spend on a new mum friend / relative

Any feedback - positive or negative - is greatly appreciated.

Thanks ;)

Sounds like a good idea, but concentrate on things for the mother and not ready meals, muslin squares etc.

I don't think its anything new- all the pampering stuff/toiletries etc is readily available- the baby clothes/muslins etc even more so.
Some of the more practical stuff - breastfeeding cream etc/ready meals is a bit more useful/different.
I've bought the baby baskets before -outfit/toy etc - i wouldn't generally buy toiletries etc for someone. Generally flowers/champagne for mum couple with some nice baby stuff
Breastfeeding stuff-this would be good as a pack but not necessarily something to buy someone else as it could cause upset /be seen as being judgemental

I really like the idea.

I would probably choose something more luxury for Mum, something along the cowshed range. ((www.cowshedonline.com/mother-and-baby))

For a baby I would like lovely organic baby toiletries, and a cute toy or baby grow to go with it.

I don't think the ready meal really fits with it. I do like the idea of pampering mum. I would generally spend £40 on something like this.

Good luck.

Just wanted to clarify, it really isn't a toiletries thing, it's predominantly a practical box with a few fun extras. Thanks for the responses so far.
The bf items are an option for eg if you know the mum is bfing, so no worries about hurt feelings \being judgemental (though I get your point). Flowers and champagne are lovely but for example I got so many flowers I just ended up spendingy all my free time cutting, arranging, recutting, rearranging et. I really want this to be practical

Your OP said it was a gift box for new mums. But items for a new Dad, muslin squares, baby toys, calpol sachets etc aren't gifts for mums.

Nice to have, yes, but not gifts for the mother. I would concentrate on pampering the mother if you're going to do it at all, though it has been done before, and could be done more cheaply by individuals.
