Hi

Am I right in thinking that if your joint household income is above £52,000 per annum you aren't entitiled to any child tax credits or have I misunderstood the form?

Thanks
Lucy

According to this it's £58,175.
We're probably just below the limit, but I've never bothered because I've heard so many scare stories about people getting money they're not entitled to & having to pay it back all at once

Try using an online calculator such as entitledto.co.uk
Depending on your circumstances you may find that you do get some child tax credit, but the amount may be quite low. With £52,000 annual income, I would anticipate that Child Tax Credit could well be under £10 per week. Use a online calculator to see what you may get, then contact the Tax Credits helpline and get them to officially work it out.

Hi

I phoned the tax credit helpline about 4 or 5 months ago and from what I remember the guy on the phone said something about if your joint income is more than £52,000 (RCD - he prob even said £58,175 as I only vaguely remember!) then we wouldn't be entitled to child tax credits.

I'll go to that website and put in our details - thanks for posting that, I didn't know websites like that existed.

Cheers
