At risk and turning down an alternative job

My employer has finally got around to starting the at risk process with me, and although the first meeting was cancelled by HR I have been sent an email about a potential job.

I currently work part time over 2.5 days they are fixed days and I am no longer on the shift system after coming back from Maternity Leave. The job I was offered was called a 29 hour contract but on looking it's actually 3 jobs of 21, 25 and 31 hours. The rota is a mix of early shifts, late shifts and weekends some 8 hours some 12. I would not have childcare for a rota like this, my mum looks after my son while I work and I can't ask her to do 12 hours and evenings and weekends as she has other caring commitments.

Can I reasonably turn down the job on these grounds?

You can turn the job down on any grounds you like, but they don't have to offer anything else. You should be able to apply for any job currently available, but if you turn down the post offered the at risk process will continue and if there are no other alternatives then you'll be redundant.

My manager is subtly putting the pressure on by suggesting I might be downgraded. Not looking forward to this process.
