I know it sounds silly cos of my spelling, but i'm seriously thinking about doing the ICS course of proof reading with a view to do it from home afterwards - the course is £40 p/m so would obviosuly work to pay for it then stop.

anyhow does anyone do the proof reading?
how ieasy is it to get work?
what sortws of money are you paid?
can it be done via email/post as I live in dorset and don't want to move to london or anything (well can't)

think that's it for the minute - really it's more info that will help me put a case to DH! lol.

bump would like to know more about this also, I would like this kind of work but have found it is hard to get jobs when you are newly qualified

I had a friend who was a proof reader a few years ago, but she said that work dried up after a while because more and more publishers were using in-house proof readers - don't know if that's still the case.
