Need advise on a business proposal

Katymac · 12/10/2006 19:53

My Nursery plan fell apart (cos the school pulled out)

Now have to put together a new proposal document for a developer

The proposal exists for a portacabin and the developed is offering me a barn

Do I

  1. Just give the existing proposal
  2. Take all references to the school out
  3. take all references to portacavin out
  4. make (guesstimate) stuff about renovating the barm
  5. give up??

Sorry about your plans going pear shaped, Katymac.

I have no experience in this, but I'd think I'd try to take references to the school and the portacabin out, but not even attempt to guess at barn renovation!

Then you have a more general business proposal, and the details can be worked out when you have longer than a 16 hour deadline!

vicky55 · 12/10/2006 20:34

never give up!

Katymac · 12/10/2006 20:36

It's looking quite empty

Do I give him figures? - that seems a bit indescreet (iyswim)

Does this work??

Preface

This proposal has been put together at very short notice. The information it contains is very informal and needs a lot of confirmation and validation. The layout and costing are based on my initial idea for a portacabin and these would be considerably different for the renovation of the barn. I have left them in the proposal as I feel they give an indication of the detail to which I work.

Sounds quite sensible to me. No reason why it shouldn't work - you sound as though you've done your homework.
Good luck

Katymac · 12/10/2006 21:13

So the preface is reasonable - it doesn't look too unprofessional?

can't you give the proposal and tell them what happened?

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 12/10/2006 21:15

Haven't got a clue about this stuff - but I'll tell you one thing - definitely NOT number 5

Katymac · 12/10/2006 21:20

Well he knows & he is very understanding (I know him through church)

I asked him about the barn back in July - then the school thing came up - we both said it would be better at the school so he backed off & let me work with them

Now the school have dumped me (& kinda left me in the lurch) he is stepping in to try and save all my work

But I do need to look like I knwo what I am doing - so I don't know how much to take out??

Aww help me please

OP posts:
southeastastralplain · 12/10/2006 21:57

if he knew you were working with the school surely he'd understand if you just did 1

Katymac · 12/10/2006 21:58

I just feel so unprofessional

I wouldn't hand in a piece of work like this - it isn't finishe (hell it's barely started)

But if I take too much out it looks a bit incomplete (which of course it is)

i wish i could help you more! good luck

Katymac · 12/10/2006 22:24

If you have a square footage for the barn can you find some average renovation figures..barns are a lot more expensive to do than houses

Katymac · 13/10/2006 10:16

It is breeze block & asbestos roofed I am not hoping for any spectacular finish
