Tax return question

When filing an online tax submission it give you your tax calculation for the tax year - has it taken into account the ' on account' payments made in July? I thought it did but on the ' view your calculation ' page it says right at the very very end ' this amount does not take into account any 2013-14 payments on account you have already made'
So have I got to deduct my 'on account payments' that I paid in July.

In July and last January, too.

So the online form gives you a figure then you have to deduct the 'on account' payments made the previous Jan and July?

From memory, once you actually submit it then sends you a bill/statement thing which shows the calculation minus what you've paid on account. Either that or you see the amount minus your payment on the front page of the system - god, my memory is shocking! - but essentially I think it shows your overall tax due as one step, then works out tax due after what you've paid as a completely separate step.
