i am palnning sell some girl dresses that i designed online. i try to make a website, i bought the domain names with go daddy, and bought the web builder to DIY, however, i realised i cannt sell item until i pay for online store pack which gona cost 240 pound a year. which way is better off 4 me as a starting point? ebay and amazon or should start professionally?
and also i have a question that, how to registe an email end with my domain name? for example, [email protected]. i think according to go daddy, i need to buy d eamil pack again. should i just registe with gmail or whoever for a free one?or i should have an prefessional email to start sell.
please please advice and help.

When selling online, it's ok to try lots of different channels as well as your own website including Amazon, eBay and for your product in particular Etsy might be good - there's no harm as you only have to pay small listing fees then a percentage when you actually sell something. You get lots of benefit from the fact that they have massive amount of users so you don't have to rely on your own marketing.

When starting out it's worth trying to sell on these marketplaces first to test out your products without investing loads in your own eCommerce website. However as with all businesses it's good to have your own website even if just a simple page with a few product shots and contact details so people know you're a genuine business (for example if they find you on eBay and want to check you out before purchasing). I have seen people with a single page (which you could create with your current DoDaddy package) then a link to their Etsy shop which is a good short term solution.

When you feel ready to invest time/money in an eCommerce website, you might want to look around as there are much cheaper hosting solutions which include free online shop tools with templates (for example Wordpress with WooCommerce). It's easy to switch from one host to another. You could also look at Shopify which is very easy to set up and is a host and online shop all in one for which you pay monthly plus transaction fees.

Definitely a good idea to get your own business email - again this comes free with other hosts and is also easy to setup if you find a host with good documentation and support. As a short term thing though you could always choose a gmail address such as [email protected]

I use Shopify and I highly recommend it. I haven't tried Wordpress for Ecommerce yet, though.

Spreading yourself over a few different platforms is good too.

[email protected] is more up to date than info@ or customerservices@

You can funnel it through your own gmail so that you didn't have to use go daddy's really clunky email interface.

I have been looking into setting up my own online business too. Etsy is good and so is amazon marketplace or fulfilled by amazon. I agree with others a website that people can refer back to you is definitely a good thing. I bought my domains from 123 but since moved my "future" business domain to tso host. as part of my hosting package I get email included which I needed to pay for with 123.

good luck x
